Pilgrimage to The Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral

Transfiguration Parish is making a pilgrimage on October 9th to our new Cathedral in Raleigh. Our Deanery Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. and a tour of the cathedral will be available.

Pilgrimage details have been finalized and the itinerary set! In general, buses will begin loading at 7:15 a.m.at Transfiguration on October 9th, returning by 3:30. Lunch is planned (for 75 pilgrims!) at Amedeo’s Italian Restaurant. On the buffet, there will be two salads, two chicken/pasta entrees and lasagna. Beverages and homemade bread are included. AND we’ve had volunteers offer to make dessert for the ride home.

Total cost for the Pilgrimage is $41.00 per person and includes transportation, lunch, tax and tip. Information sheets/payment coupons will be available after Masses this weekend (9/9 & 9/10).

In his book ‘Resisting Happiness” Matthew Kelly asks:

“Are you a Pilgrim or a Tourist? Tourists go sightseeing. Tourists count the cost. Pilgrims are very different. They look for signs. … They are aware of the needs of others. Pilgrims go looking for meaning. Pilgrims count their blessings.”
